2009 Pageants Results

The State Finals for the 2009 California International Pageants were staged in beautiful Palm Springs, California, August 8 - 10, 2008.  All sixty-six city and county delegate’s arrived at the Doral Desert Princess Resort, the host hotel for pageant weekend. On Saturday, August 9, 2008, the pageant introduced the Junior Miss California International division for young ladies, 9-13 years of age. This new division is the youth mentor program for the California International Pageants.

After the exciting "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" opening number each Junior Miss delegate competed in Fun Fashion wear and Evening Gown. The day before the on stage competitions, each Junior Miss delegate interviewed one on one with each official judge to discuss her personal platform. During the conclusion of the show each Junior Miss delegate is asked an on stage question about her chosen charity or personal platform.

The winner was announced upon the drum roll, Jayne Geist, Junior Miss Nor Cal Regional Intl. 2009 was crowned Junior Miss California International 2009. Each Junior Miss California International delegate was presented with a participation trophy and a Princess Tiara to signify her accomplishments and community service participation. Official Court of Honor is as follows: 1st Runner Up, Katherine Feaster, Junior Miss Solano County Intl.; 2nd Runner Up, Julia Valenzuela, Junior Miss Ventura County Intl.; 3rd Runner Up, Savannah Ellison, Junior Miss Sacramento Intl.; 4th Runner Up, Kristen Taylor Gibson, Junior Miss Westlake Intl.

On Sunday, August 10, 2008 inside the Palm Springs Theater the 2009 California International State Titleholders were crowned before a sell out crowd in beautiful Palm Springs. The show opened with one of the best state production opening numbers ever seen on a pageant stage, choreographed by Liz Vega-Gomez.  All 2009 Official City and County delegates adorned sun glasses, neck scarves and embellished shopping bags wearing gold tops and designer jeans and danced to a professionally choreographed dance number, "Labels or Love" by Fergie.

Afterwards, the competition began in Fun Fashion, Fitness, On Stage Platform Questions and Evening Gowns. The Show host was Mrs. California International 2005 and the winner of TV Lands, "She's Got the Look", Tanya Hutchison. The competition concluded with the announcements of 3 new California International State Titleholders; Mrs. Folsom International, Sheryl Ellison is crowned Mrs. California International 2009. Official Court of Honor is as follows: 1st Runner Up, Melanie DeMure, Mrs. Capitol City Intl.; 2nd Runner Up, Tracie Stafford, Mrs. Sacramento Valley Intl.; 3rd Runner Up, Catherine Hecker, Mrs. Alpine Intl.; 4th Runner Up, Julia Guity, Mrs. San Diego County Intl.

After her fourth try, Miss Santa Barbara International, Hilary Gushwa is crowned Miss California International 2009. Official Court of Honor is as follows: 1st Runner Up, Gretheel Olvera, Miss La Palma Intl.; 2nd Runner Up, Kristen Sciacca, Miss Anaheim Intl.; 3rd Runner Up, Brianna O’Neill, Miss Nor Cal Regional Intl.; 4th Runner Up, Leilani Tayaba, Miss Placerville Intl.

The final announcement was Miss Teen Sacramento Valley International, Candace Collins is crowned Miss Teen California International 2009. Official Court of Honor is as follows: 1st Runner Up, Elise Ellison, Miss Teen Folsom Intl.; 2nd Runner Up, Breanne Boggs, Miss Teen Solano County Intl.; 3rd Runner Up, Gabriela Garcia, Miss Teen Lancaster Intl.; 4th Runner Up, Lauren Barrera, Miss Teen Bakersfield Intl.

Other honors, prizes and scholarships were awarded in Community Service, Photogenic, Congeniality, Spirit of Pageantry, BECOME Essay Winner’s, People’s Choice, Preliminary Awards in Fun Fashion, Fitness, Evening Gown, Platform, Interview and Phenomenal Women’s Award.
